Technology Notebook Project
and so on. I believe that it will be beneficial to me as a teacher because a lot of teacher do not use technology at all. I would like to expand on the knowledge that I have and to upgrade the computer system that I have to do more things.
Electronic Portfolio
This also would be good to use for keeping student records because it is convenient as far as storage and it will accumulate throughout the years. The students parents and administration could view it to see the student's growth and that the students are meeting the standards. Also, when the student graduate and go to college they could forward them easily to colleges.
This class has been very educational for me, I learned how to blog, make links and create a video on youtube. If I was not in this class I probably would not have had the opportunity to do some of those things; that is unless I had to learn it on the job. I believe that it will benefit me in the long run and I think that all teacher should learn technology. The technology skills that I do have I learned on the job. Once a person learns the skills it is easy to do. The more they practice the better they will get.
I also, think that schools should require teachers to learn technology and purchase technology tools through grants for students to use because it would help them to be more creative.

Interactive Whiteboard
I would like to have a whiteboard in my classroom because of the different tools that are available I believe that the students would like it to because they do funmath.com and other website which have interactive functions and they love it. I could be creative with my lessons including history, and science.

I think that this project would be good for school children to do. It would make their class interesting and would encourage them to be creative in doing scenes or different topics. I would like to do this with my elementary class.

Video tool for classroom
Video can be used to create curiousity in the youth by helping them see and experience certain events. It can help them to have emphathy and compassion for the less fortunate . I would have my class use video taping on a community service project so that they can look back later and appreciate that they contributed something good to a community or persons and know that the person or oganization was also grateful to them for their help.
Response to articles on podcasting
Podcasting iss a good project for student to learn because it is not expensive. Podcasting is available for anyone to download and can be used globally. I would have my student use it to do a critical thinking language arts lesson on fairytells and their meaning. I think that it would be good for the students to work in their groups and come up with different ending to some of the fairytells. They could use the podcast to record their stories and make up a class record for others to see as well.
The story on the Water buffalo was touching and it helped people to see the plite of other poor people in another country. If younger student would see this it could help them to see how important somethings are to people in other countries and also compel them to do some fundraising to help other people.

Social bookmarking
- 1. As a teacher Social bookmarking will allow me to setup websites for my students that I think would be of interest to them and me. I could teach my student how to do it and they could as they get older set up their own bookmarks for whatever interest them. Bookmarking will allow me and my students to save time looking for information. Also, it will allow us to establish relationship with people who have similar interest; thus, we will be able to share information and gain more knowledge. I think that social bookmarking is a good tool and will help me because I do not like to spend a lot of time searching the web looking for information, especially sifting through junk websites. I chose Diigo a a social bookmark website.
2. Five ideals for excell use in the classroom
- Teachers can use Excell to create worksheets for the students in therir classroom this will make it easier for them to analyzes grades and assess students progress to see who needs help and in what subject.
- Teachers could make up a template to list room supplies and inventory plus cost to see how much money is saved or spent each year and to see what inventory needs to be restocked.
- Teachers can makeup a template to list classes by grade to keep attendance and at the end of a marking period offer the class with the best attendance an incentive (classroom party or take on trip)
- Teachers also can use excell to monitor classroom activity by setting up a template to keep track of homework handed in and projects completed. The students can list goals they want to complete and they can monitor their progress toward their goals by checking the list.
The Net Generation is described as being experiential, engaged and constantly with a need for immedicacy. Therefore, their learning environment should be active, social and learner centered.
In order for me, as a teacher to be successful with the net generation I will have to be creative with my lessons by developing and using material for interactive technology. This will give my students the opportunity to experience with learning and practice (hands on). Also, help them to have some responsibility in their own learning. Thus, I will have open up new and engaging ways for them to learn.
Because of all the new technilogical advances, I will have to teach my student by example to be responsibile ethincally while using those devices and/or programs. All in all, what my students learn while they are in school will carryover into their adult life and help them to be socially responsible and creative adults.

week 5 blog
As a teacher Rss would be good for me and my studentss because it is an efficient way for me to post classwork and activities and for my students to retrieve it. Also, I would be able to setup websites for the students to go on and they could receive daily updated web information from those sites. This would make it easier for me to weed out the junk sites, especially if the students were doing a class research project. Thus, I would setup a blog for the class to use and also post websites that I think would be useful for elementary students.
Chapter 8 response
In order for me to be sucessful with the net generation I would have to make my lesson plans relevant to the students experiences and engaging; thus, based on standards. Also, I will have to teach the student to be responsible when using technological programs and gadgets.
Also, through professional development programs, I can learn and keep up to date on new programs and teach my student new programs and different ways they can apply them to classwork. I will be a model of a lifelong learner for my students. This will help my student to be lifelong learners and motivate them to use higher learning skills and excell.

week four post
As a teacher, I can also use the templates, lesson plans, and the online calendar and blogs to supplement my lessons. I could setup a classroom website to post the students homework, assignments and grades so that the students and their parents would be able to keep up to date with their progress during the school year.

Week 3 blog
My perspective is the same as the students because of the flexibility and multitasking opportunities that technology allows. I can get more things done in a short time and also use my creativity. Thus, I can be an active learner.
Google Docs is a free web program offered by Google which allows its user to create and communicate with other users thru word processing and spreadsheets document. Google Docs is considered a R/W program because it allows users to communicate in real time. I never used this program but would like to have the opportunity to use it one day.
Some of the R/W tools that I learned about are Web 2.0, pod casting, and webcam. I have not used any of these but would like to explore the use of them in the future. I eventually want to learn and produce digital and video cartoons on black history lessons for kids.
