    Successful and Safe Educational Blogging

Blogging has its good points as well as bad points. We have to be aware of both and try to safeguard ourselves and our privacy by being responsible when setting up blogs and not revealing personal information in blogs. Also, we can set up a weblog with a pass word to limit public access to our entries.

All Passage Middle School Classes will Blog this Year

This blogging was a good opportunity for the students, teachers and parents to see students’ daily progress and where they need help at. It is also convenient for parents and student so that they will know what assignments are due. It serves sort of like a daily log or journal and students can set goals as to what they need to learn and work to complete.

    Blog: Webs of Connected learning

Blogs for connected learning is good for professional development. Thus, safeguards still need to be maintained especially for kids using blogs. Parents need to be aware of the websites their children visit. Also, teacher can monitor students by setting up blogs that need passwords to get onto in classrooms and block out sites that they don’t want the student to go to.

Connectivism A Learning Theory for Digital Age

I think that this article focuses on people and organizations incorporating technology to stay up to date in job fields and education. The challenge however, is for the schools to also implement new strategies to increase learning in the classroom.

    The 21st Century Digital Learner

Students need to have some responsibility in their learning. Therefore they should have a voice in what is taught. Teachers and administrator should listen to the student and make the lessons more interesting and challenging. If student forums are created and allowed to participate in some of the teachers and administrator meetings ideals can be exchanged and change may take place.

    Digital Natives Digital Immigrants

Digital Natives and Net. Gen. does learn differently because of all the digital games and other technology devices they use. They get information quickly and get bored if they are not challenged.

I think that the new concepts are good and should be implicated in the classrooms so that higher learning can be achieved by students. Teachers can use professional development to learn about and be updated on technology to make learning more active and a stimulating event for the students.

I do not feel that the concepts are radical because with all of the technological advances we are making in the world, we as a nation have to stay up to date with technology in order to compete with the other countries.
