Video is a powerful tool. I think that it could be used in a method class so that new teachers can see and review the teaching methods used firsthand in the classroom. Video taping gives a person the feel of being there; so the new teachers would be observing the veteran teachers and taking notes. Then the new teachers could apply what they learn in the classroom.
Video can be used to create curiousity in the youth by helping them see and experience certain events. It can help them to have emphathy and compassion for the less fortunate . I would have my class use video taping on a community service project so that they can look back later and appreciate that they contributed something good to a community or persons and know that the person or oganization was also grateful to them for their help.

Podcasting iss a good project for student to learn because it is not expensive. Podcasting is available for anyone to download and can be used globally. I would have my student use it to do a critical thinking language arts lesson on fairytells and their meaning. I think that it would be good for the students to work in their groups and come up with different ending to some of the fairytells. They could use the podcast to record their stories and make up a class record for others to see as well.
The story on the Water buffalo was touching and it helped people to see the plite of other poor people in another country. If younger student would see this it could help them to see how important somethings are to people in other countries and also compel them to do some fundraising to help other people.
